New Water Fly Company first took shape at a desk in a small bedroom in College Station, TX. Pushing textbooks and homework aside each night to make room for a Renzetti Traveler vise purchased when he was 12, Troy Hunt quickly began developing new patterns for his local waters. It wasn’t long before requests for some of these unique patterns began pouring in. This demand spawned the birth of New Water Fly Company in 2015.

Since then, the goal of the company has been to produce durable flies that offer the best imitation of the targeted prey species. Applying high quality materials that have different action and movement in the water can achieve unique swimming motions to represent the array of aquatic life that predators feed on. Understanding how each of these materials work in still versus moving water situations as well as how they are affected by weight aids in the production of highly realistic flies that fish want to eat!
